A night with Pathos, Pathos

Pathos, Pathos is an Indie-Rock group from none other than the beautiful city of Orlando. I met lead singer Matthew Walsh almost a year ago through his brother Patrick over at University of Central Florida. When I heard Matthew had started up a band, I checked out their stuff: http://pathospathos.bandcamp.com/.

They've got an awesome sound, and this weekend they were playing at little place called Will's Pub near downtown Orlando. I messaged Matthew and told him I'd love to come out and shoot the show and maybe take some portraits; his response: "I think that sounds great man!"

Straight from their first song it was easy to see these guys have a lot of fun while playing. It gave a great vibe to the venue, and it is so much more enjoyable for the crowd to have fun at a show when the band is giving it right back.

Gives these guys a listen, and if your in Orlando they'll be planning a lot more shows come early September all around the area.

Red, Hot and Boom 2014

Red, Hot and Boom is Orlando's biggest independence day festival, and this year's line-up of talent included Ingrid Michelson, American Authors, and Alex & Sierra.

Alex & Sierra take the stage at Red, Hot & Boom 2014, and being from Central FL themselves, they were no strangers to RHB. Sierra even said it had been her dream to perform here someday. They put on an amazing set in front of thousands of Central Floridians!

Thanks so much to XL106.7 for giving me access to this event and letting me shoot some awesome shots for them. Loved this festival and I hope to return next year again!

The Naked and Famous

Synths, lights, and the Beacham. All the way from Auckland, the Naked and Famous!

Kind of awesome to see a band all the way from New Zealand come to Orlando, even more awesome to see the entire venue filled wall to wall for them.

Photo Stuff:

Shot with a 5D Mark III and a 14mm 2.8 that nearly never came off the body, most of these shots are right around 1600-3200 ISO and the Mark III handles the noise easy. Great, because the Beacham is notoriously dark and usually a photography nightmare, luckily this wasn't the case tonight!

A challenge at this show were the two synths and four mic stands that were front stage left and right, I opted to shoot between them and to get both Alisa Xayalith and Thom Powers in a single frame, shot to the side for individuals.
